sometimes, it’s better not to proof read. sometimes mistakes are good and better left uncorrected because perfection is unreal. sometimes, it’s good to see the words you spelled wrong and the ones you scribble out to replace with better ones. it’s good to be reminded of poorly written paragraphs identified by the big X that crosses them out of the story. it’s good to see where you struggled and where you failed and the successes in between. sometimes it’s better not to proof read because sometimes you lose your image of yourself when you try to perfect your writing.
